RMCH COVID unit counts ‘lowest’ one death

A woman hailed from Naogaon has died with Covid-19 symptoms in the last 24 hours at the COVID unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). Besides, 10 fresh cases were detected during the period.

A personal secretary of RMCH Director Brigadier General Dr Shamim Yazdani confirmed the matter in a message on Thursday.

He said 123 patients are currently hospitalized in the 513-bed RMCH COVID Isolation unit till Thursday 8 am. 16 people were admitted to the hospital in the preceding 24 hours and 22 returned home after recovery.

Earlier on Wednesday, as many as 361 samples were tested at two two PCR labs of RMCH and Rajshahi Medical College, yielding the virus positivity among 10 people with a detection rate of 3.57 percent.
