RMCH COVID unit counts 6 more deaths

Six more people have died in the last 24 hours at the COVID unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH), among these, one died of Covid-19 and five died with symptoms.

They succumbed to the disease between 9 am on Thursday and 9 am on Friday, said RMCH director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani.

He said one from Naogaon had died of Covid-19 at RMCH in the last 24 hours. Three people from Pabna, one each from Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj died with COVID symptoms.

Shamim Yazdani added that there were 80 patients in the 192-bed COVID unit of RMCH hospital till 9 am on Friday. The previous day, this number was 81.

Meanwhile, 13 people were hospitalized with COVID and 55 people were hospitalized with COVID symptoms. Besides, 16 people were newly admitted in the last 24 hours. On the same day, 13 people left the hospital after recovery.

Earlier, 60 samples were conducted at RMCH hospital lab on Thursday – 9 people were detected with the Covid-19. Rajshahi Medical College lab, on the other hand, conducted 185 samples where 8 people were detected with the virus.
