Dog Squad of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered weapons and explosives from a militant hideout at Bosila in the capital's Mohammadpur area on Thursday.

The Dog Squad recovered a weapon from the bed on the second floor of the four-storey building cordoned off by RAB.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director of Legal and Media Wing of Rab headquarters, confirmed the matter on Thursday morning.

He said the RAB's Dog Squad, Bomb Disposal Unit and Forensic Team entered the four-storey building in Bosila around 8:30 am. The second floor of the building was then searched by a dog squad.

The RAB official also said that the elite force has taken full control of the area around the militant hideout and has detained a person from the hideout so far. RAB has evacuated the residents in the nearby building, he said adding that the operation is going on.

Tipped off, the elite force members cordoned off the house on suspicion of it being a militant hideout from early today.
