Quota for ‘disabled’ in govt. job

The government is going to maintain a quota system for the disabled people in government jobs through separate national action plans after cancellation of the quota system.

The Cabinet approved the draft of the National Action Plan for Disabilities in the light of Disability Rights and Protection Act-2013 and the Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities Act 2015.

The 11th parliament’s first cabinet meeting of the newly formed government held in the Secretariat on Monday. Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told the matter to the media at noon.

Responding to a question from the journalists, he said, the provisions under the law were not canceled. The law cannot be superseded (not degraded) by the administrative order. This part of us will be maintained in the administration procedure.

Responding to another question of how much percentages are preserved for the disabled, she said, that is what was before. It will vary in different places.
