Quake 5.3 magnitude jolts India

North India was shaken by a strong earthquake. Massive tremors have been reported in different parts of Delhi. The heavy earthquake was felt on Tuesday in Delhi, Lucknow and other parts of northern India; news: NDTV

Nepal was the epicenter of the earthquake while it was 5.3 in the Richter scale. The earthquake caused panic in Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow. People were seen fleeing from home in a panic.

An earthquake was felt at around 7:30 pm local time, the private company EMSC said in a tweet. Its center was 14 km deep in the northwestern district of Dailekh, 87 km from Nepal.

Within minutes of the earthquake, the trend started on social media where users shared their experiences.

Kolkata, 24, said that panic was created among the common people with intense shaking. Many were reported to have left the workplace and came down the street. However, no casualties were reported so far.
