Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has called for absolute caution in avoiding public gatherings and adhering to health rules.

He said the situation could go out of control if home goers can't be stopped from returning to Capital for work after Eid.

He said this at a regular briefing at his official residence on Saturday.

BNP leaders and activists are being killed and false cases are being filed against them. In response to the allegation of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's such allegation, Obaidul Quader said that Awami League did not repeat any such incident that occurred during the BNP era.

The general secretary of the Awami League also said, "Have you forgotten the brutal torture on Awami League leaders and workers when you were in power in 2001?" Despite losing their parents, the Awami League leaders and activists could not go home during the BNP era. The last chance for burial was not given. Rather than many leaders were arrested during Eid prayers, one of the main religious festivals of Muslims. How cruel and inhumane they (BNP) were.

He added that after the BNP-led four-party government came to power in 2001, many Awami League leaders and activists could not go to their homes. That history is not long ago.
