The Qatar government has reduced the prices of at least 650 products on the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan.
The country’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry released a list of discounted products on Tuesday.
Qatar has been conducting discounts for the past nine years to facilitate Muslims fasting during Ramadan. All the big shopping malls and businesses have extended their hands to implement this initiative of the government.
There are still a few days left until the start of Ramadan this year. However, as announced by the Qatari government, the discount directive has been in effect since Tuesday – which will continue till the last moment of Ramadan.
According to government guidelines, the prices of flour, sugar, rice, pasta, chicken, oil, milk and other food items have been reduced due to increased demand during Ramadan.
Not only do they offer discounts, but the Consumer Protection Department of Qatar will also be keeping a close eye to ensure the quality of the product.
