Prosenjit Chatterjee, a famous Kolkata actor, recently caused a storm of criticism on social media for his mistakes with the name of Michael Madhusudan Dutt.
Michael Madhusudan Dutt’s birth anniversary was observed on Monday (January 25). On the occasion, Prosenjit has remembered the great poet through social media. But instead of Madhusudan Dutt, he posted a picture of writer Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury! And this leads to a storm of criticism by netizens.
As soon as he posted, the screenshot went viral on social media, however, he removed the picture after a while and also sought an apology.
Posting a picture of Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury by mistake, Prosenjit wrote, “Michael Madhusudan Dutt, one of the poets, playwrights and farce writer of Bengali literature, especially during the Renaissance, whose best works are the introduction of sonnets and Amitrakshara rhymes that have enriched our mother tongue — on the birth anniversary of this great man, I pay my respects.”
One person wrote in a comment on Prosenjit’s post that “Bumbada has made many mistakes in his life. It’s a little wrong, so it is acceptable.”
