The field level teachers and officials have suggested reopening 25 percent government primary schools at the district level.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has started exchanging views with teachers and officials about this. Based on their opinion, a decision will be taken to reopen the school in a meeting with the concerned ministry on September 28.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md. Zakir Hossain told the media on Tuesday.

He said consultations are being held with teachers and officials across the country on how to resume primary schools across the country. In the meantime, there have been exchanges of views with teachers and officials of several districts. “Many of them have proposed to open 25 percent of schools at the district level in the first phase.”

The State Minister further said that a meeting will be held at the ministry on September 27 as per the suggestions they will give in consultation with the concerned people of many more districts.

A meeting will be held with the concerned experts to decide when the school can be reopened considering the situation, he added.
