Producer Iftekharul Alam passes away

Star Film Corporation's owner, producer, distributor and exhibitor Iftekharul Alam Kislu has died at age 91. This legend film producer was suffering from old age problems for a long time.

He died on Saturday at 9:35 pm on Wednesday at the United Hospital in Dhaka.

Ahmed Sharif confirmed his dead to Daily Bangladesh on Sunday morning. Iftekharul Alam Kislu is his paternal uncle.

He said Iftekharul Alam Kislu will be buried at Banani graveyard after namaj-e-janaza at Azad mosque in Gulshan-2 after Jahor prayers.

He said, before Independence, Star Film Corporation was one of the leading film production companies of the country. Iftekharul Alam Kislu, the proprietor of this organization was a successful producer, distributor and exhibitor.

By the hand of Iftekharul Alam in 1964, the first color photograph 'Sangam' was created in Pakistan directed by Zaheer Raihan. He also produced Razzak-Succunda's first film 'Behula' in 1966 and 'Ora Egaro Jon' in post liberation period.

Filmmakers mourns in his death. The film industry can not meet its shortfall.
