A court in Dhaka on Tuesday fixed July 28 as the new date to submit probe report in the case filed over the murder of Islamic scholar and TV personality Mawlana Nurul Islam Faruki.
As investigation agency CID failed to submit the report today, Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Devbrata Biswas set the new date.
Earlier on May 2, the court set today as the deadline by which to submit a probe report in the case.
On August 27, 2014, Mawlana Faruki was brutally murdered at his 174 East Razabazar home in the capital. Later, his son Foysal Faruki filed the case against unidentified miscreants with Sher-E-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
So far, 16 suspects have been arrested in connection with the case including 13 members of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Ansarullah Bangla Team and Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (HuJI). Among them, 12 are in prison.
