A court in Dhaka has fixed November 2 for submitting the probe report filed against 8 people, including Bashundhara Group’s Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir, in a case filed for allegedly murdering a female college student named Mosarat Jahan Muniya, 21, after rape.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nevana Khair Jessie’s court fixed the new date on Wednesday.

The information was obtained by the general registration branch of the concerned court on Thursday.

The day was fixed for the submission of the case’s probe reports, however, the investigating agency Police Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) could not submit the report, as a result, the court fixed the new date for the submission of the report.

On the evening of April 26, police recovered the body of college student Mosarat Jahan Muniya from a flat in the capital’s Gulshan. With her mysterious death, a lawsuit was filed with Gulshan Police Station on September 7 on charges of murder after being raped as per the court order. The case was later handed over to the PBI.

Muniya’s elder sister Nusrat Jahan Taniya filed the case in the Dhaka Women and Child Abuse Repression Tribunal-6.

District and Sessions Judge Begum Mafroza Parveen accepted the case and directed the PBI to investigate and submit a report. The court recorded Nusrat’s statement that day.

Apart from Bashundhara MD Sayem Sobhan Anvir, the other accused in the case are – Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, Afroza Sobhan, Anvir’s wife Sabrina, Saifa Rahman Mim, model Faria Mahbub Piasha, Piasha’s friend Sharmin and her husband Ibrahim Ahmed Ripon.
