Private hospitals to be closed if not renewing licenses: DGHS

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has set August 23 as the deadline for renewing private hospital licenses. The directorate also warned that the private hospital would be closed if it not renewed.
The DGHS said in an office order on Saturday.
Environmental clearance, details of officers and employees, clearance of city corporation, tax certificate and other documents are required for renewal of licenses of clinics and diagnostic centers every year. As per this, the DGHS also issued notices in newspapers as well as giving regular notices to these hospitals
A gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Health on September 4, 2018, the registration fee and registration renewal fee of private hospitals and clinics have increased from Tk 5,000 to a minimum of Tk 50,000 and a maximum of Tk 2.5 lakh.
It is worth to be mentioned that there are more than 15,000 private clinics and diagnostic centers across the country.
