Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested Mohammad Shahed alias Shahed Karim, chairman of Regent Group, from the border area of Satkhira district with illegal weapons.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday evening, RAB arrested Masud Parvez, Managing Director (MD) of Regent Group, one of the collaborators of Shahed's fraud, from Gazipur.
Besides, the ACC has sent a letter to the Department of Health and Bangladesh Bank asking for documents to investigate the corruption of Mohammad Shahed, the owner of Regent Hospital.
Meanwhile, the victims are making many complaints against Saheed and Regent Group. There are allegations of occupying the office even after the expiration of the contract and keeping the rent arrears for months. The owner of the building claims that he still owes half a crore taka against the Regent Hospital in Mirpur. The rent of Regent Group's head office in Uttara is in arrears for 8 months. The Mirpur branch of the Regent Hospital is also closed after the Uttara branch was sealed.
Earlier, after the raid at Uttara Regent Hospital, RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam said, "We initially conducted the operation with the issue of fake coronavirus test." But now as the days go by, we see that Shahed was involved in many heinous crimes. He cheated with those with whom he had business. Numerous people have called me after raids to expose his deception. According to a businessman in old Dhaka, he did not pay for the supply of construction materials for the Padma Bridge project. A person from Jaintapur in Sylhet called and said that he did not pay for the supply of sand. Besides, he has misappropriated crores of takas by talking about various appointments and transfers.
Besides, there are allegations against Shahed for using beautiful young women. Shahed used to send young women to different places to work. Many times he would not even pay the bill the suppliers.
