Pre-primary admission age to be reduced

Primary and Mass Education State Minister Md Zakir Hossain said that there is no alternative to standard primary education to create a developed nation. To ensure quality primary education, he seeks co-operation with the education staff.

Meanwhile, the secretary of the ministry said that the age of pre-primary admission will be reduced and more teachers will be appointed.

The State Minister said this on Sunday at a program on reception and exchange of views in the Primary Education Department at capital’s Mirpur. This was stated in a notification issued by the ministry.

In the speech of the special guest, Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Md Akram-al-Hossain said that the existing age of children will be given to 4 years instead of 5 years for pre-primary admission in the schools.

The secretary said the salary and discrimination of the teachers will be resolved soon. The new recruitment will be formulated soon. More than 20 thousand teachers will be appointed this year. 

The program has presided over Director General of Primary Education Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, Additional Secretary (Development) of Primary and Mass Education Ministry Md Gias Uddin Ahmed was present as special guest.
