Pori Moni incident: Nasir-Omi shown arrested after 9 days

Businessmen Nasir Uddin Mahmud and Tuhin Siddiqui Omi have been shown arrested after nine days of their arrest in a case of attempted rape, murder of actress Pori Moni.
Inspector Kamrul Islam, the investigating officer in the case, appealed for a 10-day remand, including shown arrest, at the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
On the day, Nasir and Omir, who were arrested in a drug case, were produced in the court after a 7-day remand. They were later remanded in court custody.
Renowned actress Pori Moni alleged attempted rape and murder to her at the Dhaka Boat Club in Savar at midnight on June 9. Four days later the incident, the actress revealed the incident on June 13 with a Facebook status and a press conference.
The next morning, June 14, she filed a case against six people including businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud and Omi with Savar police station.
Five people including Nasir and Omi were arrested from Uttara that afternoon. Sub-Inspector (SI) of DB’s Gulshan Zonal Team Manik Kumar Sikder then filed a case against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
