Polling in 1007 UPs on Nov 28

In the third phase, the voting will be held in 1,007 UPs of the country on November 28. Besides, the voting in 10 municipalities will be held on the same day.
EC Secretary Humayun Kabir Khandaker announced the schedule after a meeting at the Election Commission (EC) in the capital’s Agargaon on Thursday.
According to the announced schedule, the EVM voting will be held in 31 UPs and 10 municipalities and the rest will be voted on the ballot paper.
Besides, the last date for submission of nomination papers for the posts of UP Chairman, General Member and Reserved Women Member is November 2. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on November 4 and the last date for withdrawal will be November 11. The voting will be held on November 28.
The EC secretary said the polls would be held in 10 municipalities on the same day, November 28. In that case, the last date for submission, scrutinization and withdrawal of nomination papers is the same.
EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath, NID DG AKM Humayun Kabir, Joint Secretary Farhad Ahmed Khan and Public Relations Director SM Asaduzzaman were present at the press conference held at the media center of the EC building.
Noted that the EC has already taken the voting in 369 UPs in the first phase and the voting in 848 UPs in the second phase will be held on November 11.
