All kinds of politics have been banned for Qawmi Madrasa students and teachers following recent violent activities of Hefazat-e-Islam in different parts of the country.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the standing committee of Al Hayatul Ulaya Lil Jamiatul Qawmia Bangladesh, the highest policy-making board of Qawmi Madrasa, on Sunday.

This information has been given in a statement signed by Achiur Rahman, the office secretary of the board.

According to the statement, the meeting decided that the students and teachers of Qawmi Madrasa would be free from all kinds of politics.

It was also decided at the meeting that Al-Hayatul Ulaya would take decisions and action on all issues related to Qawmi Madrasa. One or more boards under Al-Hayatul Ulaya or any organization or individual shall not take any decision or action or initiative in the matter of Qawmi Madrasa separately without the decision of Al-Hayatul Ulaya.

Maulana Mahmudul Hasan, chairman of Al Hayatul Ulaya Lil Jamiatul Qawmia Bangladesh presided over the meeting at Jamia Islamia Darul Uloom Madania Madrasa in Jatrabari. Leaders of Hefajat-e-Islam who are involved with Qawmi Madrasa Education Board (Befaq), and Al Hayatul Ulaya Lil Jamiatul Qaumia attended the meeting.
