Police deployed over salt price hike rumors

Police have been deployed to stop rumors over salt crisis and price hike. Police members have been directed to conduct drives in shops.

DMP Joint Commissioner (Operations) Monirul Islam issued a directive to the police members at wireless in the capital today. Multiple OC of DMP confirmed the matter.

After getting the instructing police conducted operations in different markets of the capital. Meanwhile, several people have been arrested from different areas for selling salt at high prices.

Shah Ali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Salah Uddin Mia said, "I am working in the field at the behest of the senior police authorities so that there is no unrest with salt." Talking to the Market Committee, I am keeping an eye to make sure that no one is confused about salt price hike.

Turag thana police Nurul Muttakin said that a raid was carried out in the shops after receiving orders from the senior. However, we found no salt in most of the shops.

The industry ministry also asked people not to be confused over salt price hike.
