Polash Ahmed, the alleged hijacker of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, was buried at Dudhghata village under Firojpur UP in Sonargaon Upazila of Naraynganj on Tuesday morning.

Polash, 24, was buried at his family graveyard around 9:30 am after Namaj-e-Janaja.

Earlier, his body was taken to his residence at Dudhghata village from Chattogram at around 6:30 am.

His father Piyar Jahan said that he was taken to Chattogram to identify Polash’s body on Monday night. After an autopsy at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), the body was handed over to him in the night.

On Sunday evening, a flight, carrying  134 passenger and 14 crews, of the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines was allegedly hijacked at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport.

The plane was landed on an emergency basis and all the passengers on board and the cabin crew members were evacuated safely.

Later, the alleged hijacker was neutralised in a swift commando operation of eight minutes.
