Photographer Anwar laid to rest

Eminent photographer Anwar Hossain, who was found dead in a residential hotel in the city's Panthapath area on Saturday, was laid to eternal rest here on Monday.

He was buried at the MartyredIntellectuals' Graveyard in Mirpur in the afternoon following a namaz-e-janazar at Dhaka University central mosque after Zohr prayers.

Earlier, his body was taken to the Central Shaheed Minar around 11:00 am where people from all walks of life paid their lat tributes to the noted photographer.

Anwar Hossain, a Bangladeshi-born French citizen, was found dead at Olio Dream Haven Hotel on Saturday morning.

He had come to Dhaka for taking part in a photography competition as a judge.
