One lakh dose of COVAX vaccine manufactured by Pfizer to prevent the pandemic coronavirus (Covid-19) will arrive in the country in May.
This information has been obtained in the virtual health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) about the situation of Covid-19 on Sunday afternoon.
Mohammad Robed Amin, line director of the DGHS’s non-communicable disease control program and corona-related spokesman, said: “DGHS told Beximco that they should manage the 2million of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine within May.”
He added that an alliance called ‘Emergency Vaccine Storage Facility to South Asia Forum’ has recently been formed with six countries in South Asia – Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan and Sri Lanka – to get the vaccine emergency. “If the vaccine comes here, we will get the vaccine too.”
