Saika Shahadat, UNO of Pekua in Cox's Bazar, has been transferred on charges of irregularities and corruption. And Nazma Siddique Begum will join Pekua as the new UNO.
This information has been confirmed in a circular signed by Additional Divisional Commissioner (Overall) Shankar Ranjan Saha of Chatogram Divisional Commissioner's Office on Thursday night.
Recently, Pekua Upazila’s Taitong UP Chairman Jahedul Islam Chowdhury was fired for embezzling relief rice.
An investigation team of the district administration found the incident truth. However, despite the dismissal of the chairman in this incident, any action has not been taken against UNO Saika Shahadat, which caused a storm of discussion and criticism in the area.
Since then, how the common people of the area have been harassed by UNO Saika Shahadat has come up on social media Facebook.
There is also a strong claim that UNO Saika Shahadat has taken money from various people through corruption by abusing the power of the mobile court.
With these considerations, the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday night released the stand of UNO Saika Shahadat. She was notified to join the divisional office in Chattogram by May 3.
In the same circular, BCS (Administration) cadre Nazma Siddique Begum has been asked to join her new workplace Pekua by May 3. Earlier, she was earlier working as UNO in Brahmanpara, Cumilla.
