State Minister for Labor and Employment Mannujan Sufian asked the garment factory owners to clear the payments of workers' salaries, bonuses, and other dues by tomorrow so that the workers can enjoy the Eid-ul-Fitr. At the same time, she also urged workers to enjoy eid holidays at the workplace.
The state minister for labour and employment gave the instruction at a tripartite meeting with the factory owners, union leaders and government high-ups at Srama Bhaban in the capital's Vijayanagar.
She added that the owners must pay all the dues including salaries and bonuses of the workers by Monday. The owners' representatives present at the meeting assured to pay the salaries and bonuses to almost 100% of the factory workers by tomorrow (Monday).
Mannujan Sufian said the public holiday of Eid is three days. However, no matter how many days you take leave, you must stay at work. If the workers of all the industries including garments are entitled to leave, the owner-worker will decide by coordinating at the factory level.
