Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route have been resumed after being halted for 10 hour and a half as the ferry’s marking point and beacon light became blurred due to dense fog.
The ferry service started at 10:30 am on Monday as the fog subsides.
The information has been confirmed by Mohiuddin Russell, assistant manager of the Commerce Department of Paturia Ghat Point.
He said the ferry’s marking light became blurred due to a sudden increase in the density of fog in the middle of the Padma River. The ferry service has been stopped to avoid naval accidents, he added.
Earlier, a long-tail of vehicles was seen in the ghat areas, resulting in an increase of suffering of general passengers and transport workers.
