The ferry service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route has resumed at 11 am after being suspended for more than nine hours due to dense fog.
Earlier, the ferry service on the Paturia Daulatdia route has been suspended from 2:30 am.
Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles were stranded at the two Ghats as the ferry operations were closed for a long time.
According to BIWTC sources, “Five ferries got stuck in the middle of the Padma at around 2:20 am due to the dim light of dense fog marking lights. To avoid the accident, the ferry service on the Paturia Daulatdia route has been suspended from 2:30 am.”
Zillur Rahman, DGM of BIWTC’s Aricha office, said the ferry service is now normal after being suspended for nine hours due to dense fog.
