Paturia-Daulatdia, Banglabazar-Shumilia ferry services resumed

Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia and Banglabazar-Shumilia route have resumed as the fog subsides.
The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) has announced a halt to ferry service on the Daulatdia-Paturia route from 3:00 am to avoid accidents due to dense fog.
“The ferry services resumed at 10:00 am as the fog density reduced,” said BIWTC assistant manager Mahbubur Rahman.
The ferry on the Banglabazar-Shumilia route was shut down at around 12:00 am on Monday.
“The ferry’s marking point and beacon light became blurred due to dense fog, as a result, the ferry services was shut down to avoid an accident,” said Ali Ahmed, a marine officer at BIWTC’s Shimulia Ghat.
The ferry resumed from 11:00 pm, he added.
