Miscreants have slit the throats of two children including their parents at Khalsi village in Helatala UP in Kalaroa Upazila of Satkhira on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified — hatchery owner Shahinur Rahman, 40, son of Shahajan Ali of Khalsi village, his wife Sabina Khatun, 30, son Siam Hossain Mahi, 9, and daughter Tasnim, 7, however, Shahinur’s four-month-old child Maria was unharmed.
Confirming the incident, Kalaroa police station SI Mofizul said four members of the same family’s slit throat bodies were recovered from Khalsi village.
After hearing children humming from the next room in the morning, he immediately went there and saw their blood-soaked bodies, said Raihanul Islam, younger brother of Shahinur Rahman.
He added: “We have disputes with the house next door over land in the area. However, I do not understand who caused this incident.”
Among the dead — Shahinur’s legs were tied. The attic door to their room was open. It is believed that the killers entered the house through the attic door. Police are currently investigating the incident, said SI Mofizul.
