Whenever any person was suffering from kidney disease, he or she had to go to Dinajpur, Rangpur or Dhaka for dialysis, resulting in immense suffering as well as costing a lot of money. Now a dialysis center is being set up at Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, as a result, patients’ suffering will reduce as well as saving money. Besides, a microbiological lab with a PCR lab is also being set up in the hospital. The Ministry of Health has already adopted two projects. “Work on setting up a dialysis center and lab will begin soon,” the Health Division said.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Fazlur Rahman informed this while inaugurating the ambulance service at the Panchagarh Civil Surgeon’s Office premises on Wednesday afternoon.
The new ambulances were provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital.
During this, Panchagarh-1 constituency MP Mazaharul Haque Pradhan was present as the chief guest. Sadar Upazila Chairman Amirul Islam, UNO Arif Hossain, Upazila Vice Chairman Kazi Al Tariq, Sadar Upazila Health Officer Dr. Afroza Begum and the officials of Health Serives Division were present on the occasion.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Fazlur Rahman said work on setting up a biological lab with Kindy Dialysis Center and a PCR at Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital will start soon. Two projects have already passed in the ministry. The work of setting up the “Central Oxygen System” is also nearing completion. Patients with breathing difficulty will soon be served by the Central Oxygen System.
Panchagarh-1 MP Mazaharul Haque Pradhan said the government is working relentlessly to improve health services. Kidney patients in our area had to suffer a lot to get dialysis. They had to go to Dinajpur, Rangpur or Dhaka for dialysis. If a dialysis center is set up at Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, they will be able to undergo dialysis here. This will save money as well as reduce suffering. Besides, if PCR and microbiological labs are set up, samples of COVID patients can be collected and tested here.
