A Dhaka court on Wednesday set March 23 to submit a probe report in the case lodged over the blast at Pallabi Police Station on July 29.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mandal set the date as the investigation officer in the case failed to present the report today.

The accused in the case are Rafiqul Islam, Sahidul Islam, Mosharraf Hossain, Akram Hossain, Imamun Hossain Enamun, Jamal Shikder alias Robin, Hiron Usman, Md Yasin Khan, Md Johnny and Md Hanif.

Five of the accused have confessed in court. They are- Akram Hossain, Imamun Hossain Enamun Hiron Usman, Md Yasin Khan, Md Johnny.

On July 28, 2020, police raided a place in the Kalshi area and arrested Rafiqul Islam, Sahidul Islam and Mosharraf Hossain after learning about a possible "criminal act" by a gang. At that time, police found two pistols, four bullets and something appearing to be a weighing machine in their possession.

Being suspicious as to why the suspects would carry a weighing machine, the officers called DMP's bomb disposal unit. After going there and examining the device, the unit recommended further inspection by a more experienced squad. But it exploded inside Pallabi Police Station before the special team arrived, injuring four policemen and a support staff member.
