Pakistan, just after India, has banned popular short video app TikTok over its failure to filter out “immoral and indecent” content, according to the country’s telecommunication authority, Reuters reported.
"In view of number of complaints from different segments of the society against immoral and indecent content on the video sharing application TikTok, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued instructions for blocking of the application," officials said on Friday in a statement.
The PTA, however, said TikTok had been informed about the ban and the door for discussion always open for them. The decision can be reconsidered if they take satisfactory action on the method of filtering immoral and obscene content.
