The Padma Resort at Louhajang in Munshiganj is being disappeared into the Padma River. Meanwhile, half of the resort's land has gone into the riverbed.

The demolition started on Thursday morning. it is no longer possible for tourists to visit Padma Resort. Authorities removed 12 of the 18 cottages before the demolition after parts of several cottages sank into the river.

It is learned that one had to cross the river Padma to reach the resort. Tourists from far and wide used to come to this resort to enjoy the breathtaking beauty and to spend their holidays in the colorful wooden cottages. For many years, the resort was built of wood in that char. But this time it all ended with the erosion of the Padma.

Padma Resort Director Sadek Hossain Mannan said the two acres of land in front of the resort was completely destroyed. We have suffered a lot. Work is underway to demolish the cottages and relocate them to reduce the damage after several installations collapsed. There are four more cottages out of 16. They will be broken.

Louhajang UNO Md. Humayun Kabir said that as the water in the Padma river has increased, erosion has occurred in the char. Several parts of the resort were damaged in the demolition. The resort is currently closed.
