Padma Bridge’s 25th span to be installed on International Mother Language Day

The 25th span of the much-awaited Padma Multipurpose Bridge would be installed on the 29th and the 30th pillars on Shaheed Dibas or International Mother Language Day on February 21. After installing the 150-meter long span, 3750 meters out of total 6.15km of the main structure of the bridge will be visible.
Bridge construction company China Major Bridge Engineering Company Limited said that the 25th span of the bridge has already been placed in front of crane Tian-E. On February 21, the span, carried by the crane, will be brought to the pillars. At that time, the Shimulia-Kanthalbari channel will temporarily remain suspended.
On February 11, the 24th span of the bridge was installed at Jazeera point in Shariatpur, making 3,600 metres out of total 6.15km of the main structure of the bridge visible. The 150-meter long "5-F" span was installed between the pillar no 30 and 31 of the bridge. Earlier on February 2, the 23rd span of the bridge was installed on the 31st and 32nd pillars.
A total of 41 spans will be installed on 42 concrete pillars to complete the bridge. The authorities have planned to install three spans every month and all of 41 spans will be installed by July 2020.
