Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as she has become the head of government for the record fourth time.

After reaching Tungipara by helicopter, the Prime Minister paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his Mazar in Tungipara of Gopalganj around 11:00 am.

After placing the wreath, she stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of the country’s independence.

At that time, a smartly turned out contingent to be drawn from Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force gave guard of honour on the occasion.

Sheikh Hasina offered fateha and join a munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to go back to Dhaka in the afternoon.

On Monday, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina took oath as Bangladesh's Prime Minister for the fourth term and the third term in a row following her party’s massive victory in the 11th national election held on December 30.
