PM inaugurates Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games

The curtain of Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games, named after Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has been raised on Thursday at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the mega domestic sports festival as the chief guest from the virtual platform at 7:40 pm.
As per the instructions of the government, the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA)has limited the inaugural function amid the Covid-19 situation for the safety of the players, coaches, officials and sports-loving spectators.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the Bangladesh Games, the gate of BNS was opened for the spectators from 3:00 pm.
The main program was started with the recitation from the holy Quran at 5:30 pm. After that, the significant successes of sports in Bangladesh were shown on the screen through the audiovisual exhibition.
The national anthem was played at 6:45 pm. The national anthem will be followed by an audiovisual exhibition featuring the remarkable achievements of the country’s sportsmen.
At the end of the program, there will be a mascot parade, exhibition and stage show about Bangabandhu and Bangladesh. The opening ceremony will end at 8:30 pm with laser shows, pyro and fireworks displays.
