PM grants Tk75,000cr for non-MPO teachers-employees

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has granted financial assistance of around Tk 75,000 crore to non-government school and college teachers and staffers aiming to minimize their financial hardship caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It was said in a notification from the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday.
According to the media release issued by PMO press wing, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has provided financial assistance to non-MPO teachers and staff who are in financial crisis due to closure of educational institutions amid coronavirus pandemic.
The release also said that there a total of 105,785 teachers and employees in general education while the number is 64,440 in madrasa and Ebtedayee madrasa and vocational education.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina provided Tk 46.63 crore in favor of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Division while Tk28.18 crore in favor of madrasa and Ebtedayee madrasa and vocational education division.
Each teacher will get Tk5000 and each employee will get Tk 2500 each.
