EC sat in meeting to finalize polls schedule

The Election Commission (EC) is sit in meeting to finalize the details of the schedule, including the date of withdrawal, scrutiny, and withdrawal of nomination papers in the 11th parliamentary elections.

The meeting was started in the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda in the Election Commission building at Agargaon on Thursday.

According to EC sources, the details of the schedule including the date of submission, scrutiny, and withdrawal of the nomination papers will be finalized by the CEC, with the prominence on Dec 20. Although there may be a disagreement among the commissioners to hold polls in January.

After the announcement of the schedule on Thursday, the distribution of nomination forms will start across the country on Friday. Having the opportunity to submit nominations for the first time on online. 

Counting of holding the polls began on October 31. The current parliament has validity till January 28. There is an obligation to hold the parliamentary elections.
