Over 6.25 lakh Pfizer vaccines arrive country

The first consignment of 6,25,950 doses of Pfizer vaccine reached the country from the United States on Monday night. Under the CoVAX facility, a total of 25 lakh or 2.5 million doses of vaccine will arrive in the country in three separate consignments.
A flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the shots landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport In Dhaka at 11:20 pm.
The officials of the Ministry of Health, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), CMSD and Airport were present at the airport to receive the vaccine consignments.
Earlier, in a release, senior information officer at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Maidul Islam said the first batch of 6,25,950 doses of vaccine has been expected to arrive in Dhaka at 11:20 pm on Monday and the second consignment of 12,56,580 doses at 12:00 on Tuesday (October 5) and the third shipment of 6,25,950 doses at 11:20 pm.
Under the CoVAX facility, a total of 25,08,480 doses of Pfizer vaccine will reach the country in three consignments today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday), the release added.
Earlier, a total of 36,04,480 doses of Pfizer vaccines arrived in the country from the United States under the Covax facilities.
