Over 4.5cr people get relief assistance

The government has continued relief assistance to alleviate the sufferings of the people across the country in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. So far, the government has provided relief to more than 4.5 crore people across the country as humanitarian assistance.
According to information provided by 64 district administrations, the government distributed relief among more than 4.5 crore people of 92,51,000 families as of Thursday.
So far, 133,165 metric tons of rice have been allocated as relief while 105,779 metric tons of it have been distributed.
Besides, the government handed over almost Tk 49 crore cash to 2,53,20,000 people of 53,68,000 families. So far, more than Tk 73 crore has been allocated in this sector.
Meanwhile, a total of Tk 13 crore have been allocated for baby food aid and so far Tk 10.20 crore has been distributed. So, the number of beneficiary families stands at 356,648 while the number of people is 730,921.
