Over 1.1m COVID-19 deaths registered globally

The death toll from coronavirus tops 1,143,357 and the number of infections exceeds 42,028,805 across the globe. However, a total of 31,206,954 have recovered from the virus, according to worldometer.
The United States is the most affected nation by the deadly coronavirus having 8,661,722 people infected with the virus. Of these, 228,381 have died in the country.
Brazil, the Latin American country has the second-highest number of deaths from coronavirus. The death toll rose to 155,962. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 5,332,634.
India is in the second position in the context of coronavirus infection and at third in the context of deaths after the United States and Brazil. The death toll in India rose to 117,336 and the number of coronavirus cases has risen to 7,761,312.
The coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China in December 2019. In the country of origin, 85,747 people have been infected so far. Of these, 4,634 people have died.
