Order on Rozina Islam`s bail Sunday

The bail order of Journalist Rozina Islam in a case filed by the health ministry under the Official Secrets Act and penal code will be delivered on Sunday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah's virtual court set the date after the hearing on Thursday.
Earlier on Thursday, lawyer Ehsanul Haque Samaji and Prashant Kumar Karmakar stood for Rozina Islam. The state lawers, on the other hand, opposed the bail. After hearing both sides, the court said it would give the order later.

Earlier on Tuesday, Shahbagh Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Arifur Rahman Sardar, who is investigating the case, applied for Rozina's five-day remand for proper investigation of the case. At that time, Rozina’s lawyer appealed for bail. The court then dismissed the remand application and fixed Thursday for the bail hearing.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Health Md. Shibbir Ahmed Osmani filed a case against Rozina under sections 379 and 411 of the Penal Code and sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act on Monday.
According to the case, Rozina Islam entered the office of the private secretary of the health services department, hid important office documents in different parts of her body, and took pictures through her mobile phone. At that time the private secretary was in the secretary's room for office work. At the secretary's office, the police member in charge. Mizanur Rahman stopped her. Later, Additional Secretary Kazi Jebunnesa Begum, Deputy Secretary Zakia Parveen, Senior Assistant Secretary Sharmin Sultana, Secretary's Private Secretary. Saiful Islam Bhuiyan, Senior Assistant Secretary Mosaddeq Mehdi Imam, Office Assistant. Mahfuzul Islam, Sohrab Hossain and other officials came to the spot. Later, Additional Secretary Kazi Jebunnesa Begum searched her and recovered a mobile phone with pictures of some important documents. It appears that she was stealing the documents. At that time, female police personnel of Shahbagh Police Station led by the Additional Commissioner of Police in charge of security of the Secretariat came to the spot and took her into custody.
The ministry's written complaint further said that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was recently signed with various countries, including China and Russia, for the coronavirus vaccine. Things that are very sensitive and important. If these issues come to the fore, then Bangladesh's relations with those countries will be under threat.
Note that Rozina Islam, an investigative journalist, went to the health ministry on Monday to carry out her professional duties. She was kept there confined for over five hours and harassed. At one point she fell ill. At around 8:30 pm, police took her to the Shahbagh police station and filed a case against her
