Order hearing in case against Sayeed Khokon today

The order hearing of the case — that has been filed against seven people Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) former mayor Sayeed Khokon for allegedly embezzling money by illegally allocating shops at the capital’s Fulbaria Super Market-2 on Tuesday — will be held today.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashek Imam’s court will rule on the case on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, market president Delwar Hossain Delu filed a case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashek Imam on Tuesday. Earlier, the court accepted the statement of the plaintiff. Later in the afternoon, the court set the date for the order hearing.
The other accused in the case are – former DSCC chief revenue officer Yusuf Ali Sardar, former deputy assistant engineer Majed, Kamrul Hasan, Helena Akter, Atiqur Rahman Swapan and Walid.
Incumbent DSCC Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh carried out an eviction drive in the extension block A, B, C of Fulbaria Super Market-2 as part of the eviction drive in the area under his jurisdiction.
Regarding the eviction, plaintiff Delwar and other traders were informed that former mayor Sayeed Khokon and other accused have created illegal establishments by fraudulently embezzling money outside the design of the main building of A, B, C extension block of Fulbaria Super Market-2.
The accused illegally conspired to deceive each other in an unethical manner. The plaintiff came to the court and filed a case for violating the provisions of Penal Code 34/109/120 (Kha)/406/417/477(Ka) of 1860 and 506 for showing criminal intimidation.
