Ongoing restrictions on movement extended till July 15

The government has extended the ongoing countrywide restriction on public movement and transport till July 15 amid a surge in the Covid-19 cases.

The Cabinet Division today issued a gazette notification in this regard.

According to the notification, all government, private, semi-government, autonomous and financial institutions can be kept open in compliance with the health rules. The government has prohibited gatherings at tourist spots, resorts and community centers during the period.  It has asked not to hold any social, political and religious programs to avert public gatherings.

Restaurants can serve food at half capacity between 6 am to 10 pm and also provide takeaway and online services.

Public transports, including inter-district buses, will carry passengers at half capacity, maintaining health rules.

In the high risk districts of Covid-19, Deputy Commissioners (DC) will take necessary steps discussing with the expert technical committee to prevent Covid-19 infection in their respective areas.

The government imposed restrictions on April 5 to prevent coronavirus infection.
