The first death anniversary Bir Freedom Fighter, renowned lyricist, composer, and music director Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul is on Wednesday. Last year on January 22, he breathed his last at his Badda residence in the capital from cardiac arrest at the age of 63. 

Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul was born on January 1, 1957. He is a country music personality as well as lyricist, composer and music director. He was active in the country’s music industry including the Bangladesh film industry from the end of 1970 till his death. 

He received numerous awards, including the state’s highest honor Ekushey Padak, President Award, National Film Award. He participated in the Great Liberation War at the age of only 15 years. 

Bulbul started working on the film as a music director in the film ‘Megh Bijli Badal’ in 1978. He has independently produced song albums and directed music for numerous films.

He has worked with almost all popular Bangladeshi musicians including Sabina Yasmin, Runa Laila, Syed Abdul Hadi, Andrew Kishore, Samina Chowdhury, Khalid Hassan Milu, Agun, Kanak Chapa. Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul sang regularly since 1976.
