One killed in mango orchard shootout

Man named Wahed Ali Ghazi was killed in a shootout between two rival groups in mango orchard at Brahmarajpur in Sadar Satkhira.

The shootings took place at Dawud Ali's mango orchard near Sadar Upazila's Brahmarajpur Bazar on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Wahed Ali Gazi, son of Nabat Ali Gazi of Dhulihar  Tamaltola village.

Locals said Waheed was fugitive accused in several cases including murder. He used to ride motorcycles as well as do fish business.

Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Asaduzzaman said that they received news through Chowkidar in the morning. Later, the bullet pierced body of Waheed Ali Gazi was recovered.

He said Wahed Ali was killed in the gunfight of two terrorist groups. Three pairs of sandals, two rounds bullets and a shotgun were recovered from the scene. There are six cases against Wahed Ali, including murder.
