One killed in clash over establishing supremacy

A man was killed and three others were injured following a clash over establishing supremacy at Bahara village in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sujan Sheikh, son of Mujibur Sheikh of the village. 

Muksudpur Police Station OC Mirza Abul Kalam Azad said that there has been a longstanding conflict between Mujibur Sheikh and Badshah Matabbar of the Bahara village over establishing supremacy.  On Sunday evening, an altercation took place between the two groups over offering prayers in a mosque.

Both groups got into an altercation again on Monday morning, that turned into clash later, leaving Sujan dead on the spot. On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Injured Tushar Sheikh and Mujibur Sheikh admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

The body of Sujan Sheikh has been recovered and was sent to the Gopalganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the OC.
