One killed as drinking alcohol in Khilgaon

A person named Azizur Rahman (45), who became ill after drinking alcohol in the capital’s Khilgaon Meridia, died. Four people including women were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). They are all day laborers.

The sick are-- Roji, Rahila, Momin, Imamul.

According to the relatives of the sick, 8-10 people drank alcohol at Ismail's house on the night of December 11. After a while they became sick one after another.

At first, they were treated at the local hospital. As their condition start deteriorating, they were taken to DMCH hospital where duty doctors declared Azizur Rahman Titu (45) dead on Sunday morning. Khalek left hospital after giving primary treatment. The remainings are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The decease’s brother-in-law Mintu Mia said, “They were all residents of the same area, all of them are day laborers. Zakir who was with them, collected the liquors. He (Zakir) came to the hospital, after listening to the death he escaped.”
