One held over distorting image of PM

Rapid Action Battalion has arrested a young man for distorting the pictures of some important people of the country, including Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on social networking site Facebook. The detained is identified as Tanvir Hasan Mohan (23)

The information has been disclosed at a press briefing at Madaripur RAB camp on Thursday noon.

A team of CPC-3 squad of RAB-8 from arrested him from Nalgora in Madaripur's Shibchar area on Wednesday. The drive was led by Commander Debashish Karmakar.

RAB said that the detainee has been doing the distortion of the images of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, various misrepresented statements after Prime Minister's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, RAB general secretary Benazir Ahmed and Minister Obaidul Quader, and circulating various anti-governments information in Facebook as the name 'Tanbir Hasan' for a long time. A mobile and two SIM cards were recovered from his car in the operation. He has been handed over to Shibchar Police Station along with mobile.

Rapid Action Battalion informed that, the detained Tanvir Hasan has admitted to these crimes in the initial interrogation.

It is learned that Tanvir Hasan, son of Abdul Mannan from Tulsipur village of Bagha police station under Rajshahi district. A case under the Digital Security Act 2018 is in process.
