One dead after pro-Trump mob storms US Capitol

Trump supporters rampaged during the process of certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the joint session of Congress at the US Capitol on Wednesday local time. There were also report of shootings besides vandalism. One woman was shot dead. A 12-hour curfew has also been imposed in Washington.
The Washington Post reported on Thursday that Trump supporters broke through security barricades inside the Capitol (Parliament) Electoral College in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, just as votes were being counted and finalized.
A woman has been killed in protests, vandalism and shootings by Trump supporters. Besides, several people were injured. Law enforcement has detained 16 Trump supporters in the incident.
The mayor of Washington, D.C. has announced a curfew from 6:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday. Earlier, thousands of Trump supporters, including members of various extremist groups, gathered in Washington to oppose the congressional hearing. Speaking at the rally, Trump announced that “he would not accept defeat” in the November election.
According to the BBC, Trump supporters suddenly started rampaging during the session. Besides vandalism, there have also been shootings. One woman was killed. A curfew has been imposed in Washington.
During the clashes, police escorted members of the House of Representatives out of the session room. In such a situation, the Senate session was also adjourned. Police also escorted Vice President Mike Pence, who was presiding over the joint session, out of the session room.
Police advised lawmakers present in the session room at the time of the incident to wear the gas mask from under their seats. When the Trump mob tried to enter the Capitol building, the police officers aimed guns to stop them.
