The Cabinet Division informed this by issuing a gazette notification announcing a ‘strict lockdown’ for eight days from April 14 to April 21 on Monday afternoon.
According to the notification, the ongoing restrictions on movement, which began on April 5, will continue until 6:00 am on April 14.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the government had decided to take a “strict lockdown” to curb coronavirus infection. “The decision was taken to close all government and non-government offices except those providing emergency services,” he said.
Earlier on April 4, the Cabinet Division issued a circular with some 11 directives to be implemented during the seven-day lockdown.
